What is mobility and movement support?
Mobility and movement support covers non-medical hands-on assistance with the physical tasks of daily movement. This includes helping individuals move safely through their home, assisting with getting in and out of bed or chairs, accompanying them on walks, and supporting light physical activity as part of their routine.
It is not physical therapy, rehabilitation, or any form of clinical treatment. Our attendants do not assess, diagnose, or provide therapeutic intervention. They provide attentive, practical support so individuals can move through each day safely and with confidence.
New Dimensions Caregivers delivers mobility and movement support through PHC, Family Care, Community Attendant Services, STARPLUS, and partnering managed care organizations. If you are enrolled in one of these programs and have been assessed as needing mobility assistance, we can work directly with your MCO to begin services.
Programs we work with
We provide mobility and movement support to individuals enrolled in the following Medicaid-funded programs in Texas: Primary Home Care (PHC), Family Care, Community Attendant Services, STARPLUS, and partnering managed care organizations. Eligibility and authorized services are determined by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and your MCO. Contact us if you have questions about which program applies to you.
What to expect from your attendant
Your attendant will work from an authorized care plan that outlines the specific mobility tasks they are there to assist with. They will move at your pace, stay focused on your safety and comfort, and treat you with patience and respect at every visit.
We work to assign the same attendant to each individual so that routines stay consistent and a relationship of trust can develop over time. If anything changes or you have questions about your services, our team is available throughout the course of care.
