What is companionship and supervision?
Companionship and supervision covers the attentive daily presence that helps individuals feel safe, connected, and supported at home. This includes friendly engagement, shared activities, watchful oversight for individuals who should not be left alone, timely medication reminders, and help staying connected to a consistent daily routine.
It is not clinical care of any kind. Our attendants do not provide nursing, therapy, or medical monitoring. They provide genuine, attentive presence as authorized under your care plan, showing up consistently and treating each individual with patience and respect.
New Dimensions Caregivers delivers companionship and supervision through PHC, Family Care, Community Attendant Services, STARPLUS, and partnering managed care organizations. If you are enrolled in one of these programs and have been assessed as needing supervision or daily engagement support, we can work directly with your MCO to begin services.
Programs we work with
We provide companionship and supervision to individuals enrolled in the following Medicaid-funded programs in Texas: Primary Home Care (PHC), Family Care, Community Attendant Services, STARPLUS, and partnering managed care organizations. Eligibility and authorized services are determined by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and your MCO. Contact us if you have questions about which program applies to you.
What to expect from your attendant
Your attendant will work from an authorized care plan that outlines the specific tasks and support they are there to provide. They will arrive consistently, engage genuinely with the individual they serve, and keep a watchful, caring eye throughout each visit.
We work to assign the same attendant to each individual so that a real relationship can develop over time. Familiar presence is especially important for individuals who benefit from supervision, and we take the consistency of that relationship seriously. Our team remains available throughout the course of care if anything changes or you have questions.
