What is Personal Care under a PAS program?
Personal care is non-medical daily living support provided by a trained attendant. It covers hands-on help with tasks like bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and companionship. It is not skilled nursing care, therapy, or any form of clinical treatment. It is support delivered in the home by an attendant who is there to help the individual get through their day safely and comfortably.
New Dimensions Caregivers delivers personal care services through PHC, Family Care, Community Attendant Services, STARPLUS, and partnering managed care organizations. If you are enrolled in one of these programs and have been assessed as needing daily living support, we can work directly with your MCO to begin services.
Programs we work with
We provide personal care services to individuals enrolled in the following Medicaid-funded programs in Texas: Primary Home Care (PHC), Family Care, Community Attendant Services, STARPLUS, and partnering managed care organizations. Eligibility and authorized services are determined by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and your MCO. Contact us if you have questions about which program applies to you.
What to expect from your attendant
Your attendant will work from an authorized care plan that outlines the specific tasks they are there to help with. They will arrive consistently, follow your routine, and treat you or your loved one with patience and respect at every visit. We work to assign the same attendant to each individual so that routines stay stable and a genuine relationship of trust can develop over time.
If anything changes or you have questions about your services, our team is available to help. We stay in communication with individuals, families, and MCOs throughout the course of care.
